JOB OVERVIEW
We're looking for a programmer to help us launch a new group space for communications experts working to clean up the planet. You must know some Drupal (or be willing to learn fast), be a good multi-tasker, and be up for the challenge of introducing a new tool to a community.
Green Media Toolshed is a network of communications experts who work for environmental causes, and we provide this network with tools to help them do their job better. Our latest tool, which you'll be working on, is an online campaign room stocked with all the tools needed to spread the word. The real meat of the tool is that people can create their own campaign rooms and customize them with their own branding, content, etc. The tool also makes it easy for to find and join forces with community members working on similar causes to run a joint campaign room and campaign.
The tool is built, but we need a programmer to help us get it up and running. This means helping community members learn how to use the tool, troubleshooting the issues that will inevitably come up, and prioritizing new feature requests. We're looking for someone to work part-time, about 15 to 20 hours a week.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Train community members on how to use the toolset
- Troubleshoot issues with the toolset with community members and the GMT team
- Work with our vendor to implement feature requests and report bugs
- Provide technical advice and assistance as needed
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Experience working with Drupal or the desire to learn it FAST
- Solid background in XHTML and CSS
- Superb communications and time-management skills
We're located in Washington, DC and are looking for someone to work out of our office and really join the team. Send a letter of interest and resume to robert@greenmediatoolshed.org to apply.
